We understand that when people hire a skip it’s often the case that you might be eager to quickly clear away as much as possible. But while a skip is a great option for a wide selection of waste, there are somethings that you simply can’t put into a skip.

Here’s a quick list of the most common things we see in our skips that really shouldn’t be there – so please do not throw any of the following items into your skip.

Electrical equipment

• Fridges
• Toasters
• Microwaves
• Electric cookers and fans
• Televisions
• Telephones
• Computer screens and towers
• Fax machines
• Printers and scanners

Liquids or hazardous waste

• Hydraulic oil
• Engine oil – petrol or diesel
• Cooking oil
• Medical waste

Solvents and chemicals

• Paints – or paint tins which still have paint left in them
• Glue
• Bleach
• Detergent
• Processing fluids
• White spirits
• Herbicides

Miscellaneous

• Batteries (household or vehicle)
• Tyres
• Plasterboard
• Gas cylinders
• Asbestos
