If you know someone who has made your community a better, kinder place, or someone who you feel goes above and beyond in their personal or professional lives, then we want to hear from you. Get in touch and let us give them the recognition they deserve.
Now is your chance to say thank you. We are asking people to nominate their local hero so we can give them the recognition they deserve.
They don’t have to have done something outstanding – just contributed to helping their community. It may be someone who runs the Neighbourhood Watch or has baked cakes for good causes. They may have done a sponsored walk, tended an elderly friend’s garden or helped out a local church, temple or mosque.
They could be aged nine to 90 and live anywhere in the PO or SO postcode area. They may, for example, be a cub scout leader, a teacher, a carer or someone that runs a sports team, a WI or a drama club.
The L&S Local Heroes campaign gives those people the opportunity to gain the recognition they deserve.
While it is of course not possible to reward everyone for their hard work and contributions to society, we are offering the chance for an overall winner to win the Ultimate Pamper Weekend for two at a local hotel and spa resort. The prize includes a two night stay, dinner, bed and breakfast along with a pamper spa treatment*.
*A cash alternative of £1,000 is also being offered for those that would prefer this option.
You will be able to submit entries from Feb 1st 2022. Entries will be closed from Sunday 31st July. Judging will take place throughout the first two weeks of August and a winner will be announced by the end of August 2022.
Judging will take place by a panel consisting of the L&S Waste Management team and campaign ambassador, Brian Wood MC. The judge’s decision is final and winners will be notified by a representative of L&S once a decision has been made.
Entrants must live in the SO or PO postcode area and have contributed in some way to their local community either through their personal or professional lives. Entrants can be of any age, although to claim the Pamper Weekend Prize they must be 16 or over*
Full terms and conditions of the campaign and prize are available on request – please email localheroes@lswaste.co.uk for further information.
