Fly-tipping is on the rise and it’s hurting our communities, landowners and environment Today’s BBC coverage www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/czj1nwlg4w1t highlights a growing problem we all know far too well: fly-tipping is increasing across the UK. There’s no single cause, but one thing is clear, and that’s higher costs for lawful waste disposal are contributing to the surge. When householders and businesses face rising charges for proper waste disposal, some are tempted to take the easy (and illegal) option of dumping waste where it shouldn’t be. But using unlicensed or ā€œman with a vanā€ waste operators isn’t the answer. Many of these cheap services are run by rogue carriers who dump rubbish illegally to avoid fees and that waste still needs to be cleared up, usually by councils or private landowners. In some areas, councils report that up to 40% of fly-tips are left by rogue ā€˜white van’ operators, not just individuals. The result?• More mess on our streets, verges and open spaces.• Higher costs passed back to taxpayers.• Dangerous waste left in public places.• Landowners left responsible for clearing up other people’s rubbish.Fly-tipping is illegal and avoids important checks, licences and safe disposal routes that protect our environment. There are legal, licensed services and council options available that ensure waste is handled responsibly and we all have a part to play in using them.Responsible waste disposal protects our countryside, keeps our communities clean, and supports legitimate waste businesses that do the right thing.#DontBeATosser#WasteManagement#Flytipping

🚧 Supplying Concrete During the M27 Christmas Shutdown šŸš§šŸŽ„While most people were switching off for Christmas, our team was gearing up for one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects of the year.During the Christmas shutdown of the M27 at Junction 10, L&S Concrete supported VolkerFitzpatrick with a fully planned, time-critical concrete supply operation, including pours on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and into the night, despite major road closures and diversions.By pre-loading trucks ahead of the closure and positioning them on site before Christmas, our team helped keep this nationally significant project moving when timing really mattered. A huge credit to our drivers and depot teams who went above and beyond to make it happen.šŸ‘‰ Read the full case study here:lswaste.co.uk/case-study-supplying-concrete-during-the-m27-christmas-shutdown/
