Another major investment for L&S. 💪🚜
July 2026
Just weeks after announcing a £1.5 million investment in its vehicle fleet, L&S Waste Management has further strengthened its operations with the arrival of a new £250,000 wheel loader at its Railhead facility.
The latest addition forms part of a further £750,000 investment in mobile plant and machinery, with three major items of equipment joining the business over the past month as L&S continues to expand capacity to meet growing demand across the waste management, recycling and aggregates sectors.
Operating from the company’s Southampton Railhead facility, the new wheel loader will support the handling and processing of recycled aggregates and bulk materials, increasing efficiency while enhancing the resilience of one of the South’s busiest resource recovery operations.
The investment follows the company’s recent announcement of a £1.5 million programme of fleet investment, which included six new heavy goods vehicles and two ProAll volumetric concrete mixers. Together, the investments represent more than £2.25 million committed to new vehicles, plant and operational infrastructure during 2026.
Nigel Ingram, Managing Director of L&S Waste Management, said:
“Our recent £1.5 million fleet investment demonstrated our commitment to continually modernising our operations, and this latest investment in mobile plant continues that strategy. As demand for our services grows, we’re investing across every part of the business to ensure we have the equipment, technology and infrastructure needed to deliver the highest levels of service for our customers.
“This isn’t simply about buying new machinery. It’s about improving efficiency, increasing capacity, enhancing safety and ensuring we’re well placed to support the long-term needs of the construction, waste management and aggregates industries."
Like the company’s newest fleet vehicles, the wheel loader has been selected for its productivity, reliability and operational performance, helping L&S maximise efficiency while maintaining the high environmental and safety standards expected by its customers.
The investment also supports the company’s wider commitment to continuous improvement. Alongside modernising its fleet and equipment, L&S continues to invest heavily in employee training, operational technology and industry-leading compliance, including maintaining its FORS Silver and Constructionline Gold accreditations.
With further investment already planned as part of its 2026/27 growth strategy, L&S continues to strengthen its position as one of the South’s leading integrated waste management, recycling and aggregate suppliers.
Nigel Ingram added:
“We’re building a business for the long term. Whether it’s investing in new vehicles, processing equipment or our people, every decision is focused on delivering greater value, reliability and service for our customers while ensuring we continue to operate safely, responsibly and sustainably."
As customer demand continues to grow and environmental standards become increasingly important, L&S remains committed to investing in the infrastructure, technology and expertise needed to remain at the forefront of the industry.
