The L&S team have been busy supporting local community projects.Discarded Decking recently found a new home at a local Fishing Club. Careful reuse of the material will enable local fisherfolk to keep their feet dry. Our Concrete Team were in action supplying Concrete to a community gardening project in the Havant area, creating pathways for reduced mobility and wheelchair use was top of the list leaving a very happy project lead, highly complementary about all involved. 👍

Fly tipping, the illegal dumping of waste in unauthorized areas, poses a significant environmental and public health problem in the UK. Despite stringent regulations and enforcement efforts, fly tipping remains a prevalent issue that affects communities, landscapes, and wildlife across the country. One of the primary reasons for fly tipping is the high cost associated with legal waste disposal, which prompts some individuals and businesses to seek cheaper, illicit alternatives. Moreover, the lack of convenient and affordable waste disposal facilities in certain areas exacerbates the problem, driving perpetrators to dump their waste illegally in rural areas, vacant units or along roadsides.Fly tipping has detrimental consequences for the environment, as it can contaminate soil, waterways, and habitats, endangering wildlife and ecosystems. Additionally, the unsightly presence of dumped waste tarnishes the aesthetics of landscapes, diminishes property values, and undermines community pride.Furthermore, fly tipping poses risks to public health and safety, as dumped waste may contain hazardous materials, sharp objects, or pollutants that can pose physical harm or environmental hazards. Moreover, the accumulation of waste in public spaces can attract vermin, promote the spread of diseases, and create fire hazards, endangering both human health and the environment.Addressing fly tipping requires a multi-faceted approach that involves regulatory measures, enforcement actions, public education, and community engagement. Strengthening penalties for offenders, improving surveillance and monitoring of fly tipping hotspots, and enhancing access to legal waste disposal options are crucial steps in combating this illegal activity and protecting the environment and public health in the UK.Should you need assistance with flytipped waste please do not hesitate to make contact. Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey.

Alan Howe - A customer of ours at Same Day Clearance Waterlooville has passed away. A regular tipping customer for 20 years Alan was a real character. Will miss him, will miss his funky shorts, will miss having a good moan when we met. One of life’s true grafters. 👍Commiserations to Alan’s family. X RIP Al.
